DESCRIPTION:

INSURANCE ADJUSTERS investigate insurance claims. We determine the amount of loss or damages covered by insurance policies and authorize payments. Insurance adjusters perform the following duties:

Negotiate settlement of claims. Prepare adjustment reports. Inspect automobile, home or other property damage. Take statements and consult with claimants, accident witnesses, doctor and other relevant individuals and examine records or reports. Investigate circumstances surrounding insurance claims to determine validity of claim. Determine amount of loss or damages covered by insurance policies

Assignments should be sent to the Anchorage office for processing. Professional Adjusters also have locations in WASILLA and on the KENAI PENINSULA. These locations allow us to service an area from Mat-Su Valley to Homer to Seward, Alaska. Our appraisers and adjusters can also service Bethel, Juneau, Fairbanks, Ketchikan and additional cities and areas outside the road system which are accessible by plane. Questions on areas outside the road system can be answered by our clerical staff. Assignments can be pro-rated and desk audits arranged as well.

AUTO, GENERAL LIABILITY AND WORKER'S COMPENSATION

SUPERVISOR: Law Henderson

Law has been with Professional Adjusters of Alaska, Inc. since October, 1986. He has 31 years experience in multi-line claims handling from auto and public liability to workers compensation claims. He was the former claims and office manager for Pacific Marine Insurance Company’s Anchorage office. Law is a partner in Professional Adjusters of Alaska, Inc.

PROPERTY, HEAVY EQUIPMENT, TRUCK AND MARINE

SUPERVISOR: Gary Oathout

Gary started with Professional Adjusters of Alaska, Inc. in 1989 as an auto and heavy equipment appraiser. With his extensive background in building construction he soon added property claims to his skills. Gary handles commercial and residential property claims and supervises marine and heavy equipment claims. He is a partner in Professional Adjusters of Alaska, Inc.

AVIATION:

SUPERVISOR: Neil A. Webster

Neil was the former president and general manager of AirClaims of Alaska and owner of Webster & Associates. Neil has 23 years experience in aircraft appraisal/adjusting and general liability claims. He has an Associate Degree in Police Administration and a BS in Criminology, with seven years experience as an Anchorage Police Department reserve officer. Neil is also a pilot with single engine land and sea ratings. He is a partner in Professional Adjusters of Alaska, Inc.

MULTI-LINE

ADJUSTERS:

Kathleen Clemenson is a multi-line adjuster with 27 years experience handling property, casualty and workers compensation claims. Kathy worked for GAB and then CIGNA before joining Professional Adjusters of Alaska, Inc. She is very versatile and a valued member of our staff. Kathy is currently the office manager of our Matanuska Valley claims office which includes Palmer, Wasilla, Sutton, Talkeetna, Willow, Big Lake and the surrounding communities.

Bob Reupke joined Professional Adjusters of Alaska, Inc. in 1992 and now has over 31 years of multi-line adjusting experience including Auto, General Liability, Marine, Protection & Indemnity, Professional, Products and Airport Liability. Bob is capable of handling all types of liability, auto or property claim. His extensive experience has proved invaluable while with Professional Adjusters of Alaska, Inc.

Tim Havard joined Professional Adjusters of Alaska, Inc. in 2002.  He has an extensive background in new home construction as well as approximately 4 years of property and liability claim experience.  Tim also utilizes his knowledge and skills on our total loss claims. 

Ronald H. Huffman has recently become part of Professional Adjusters of Alaska, Inc and brings with him 13 years of experience in commercial photography, Admiralty P&I, Worker's Compensation, Commercial Property, Real Property (E&O Claims), Inland Marine, Homeowner & Mobile home, Fire and Allied Lines, Heavy Truck & Equipment, CGL Including Broad Form, Auto Physical Damage & Liability and Motor truck cargo.  He is also INS Certified and is a Realtors Institute graduate. 

APPRAISERS:

Kent Sherman has been a commercial fisherman, heavy equipment operator and pilot for 24 years. Professional Adjusters of Alaska, Inc. uses Kent’s extensive background in boat work and construction to appraise marine and heavy equipment.

 

Jill Webb has several years of body shop experience and is now putting her expertise to work as an auto appraiser for Professional Adjusters of Alaska, Inc.

 

Layton Welsh joined Professional Adjusters of Alaska, Inc. in July, 1990. He is I-car trained and has 15 years of extensive frame and painting experience. Our appraisal department handled over 1,200 claims in 2000 and over 2,600 claims from January, 2001 through August, 2001.

Bob Fairbanks joined Professional Adjusters of Alaska, Inc. in 2002 from Northern Adjusters.  Bob has over 30 years experience including being a body shop owner and auto and boat appraiser.  

Kenai Peninsula Location

David J. Daly joined Professional Adjusters in September of 2001. Dave is I-CAR certified and has multiple years in the collision repair industry as well as an extensive background as a journeyman mechanic for light cars and trucks. Dave volunteers his time in the summer to the local scout troops as a mountaineering and survival instructor.

Office Staff

Shelly Roth, Melissa Roy and Shelly Gjullin are the voices that greet callers on the phone. Shelly manages the office and handles the accounting. Melissa coordinates the auto appraisal department and Shelly Gjullin provides transcription, general office and website support. These ladies are all experienced in our operations and available to field your questions, take new assignments, and direct you to the proper party.
